Production/Project EngineerRob has been working for Flexible Machining Systems since leaving school and recently completed a HND in Mechanical Engineering (Level 5). Rob has extensive experience managing complex project orders.

Production/Project EngineerLuke joined Flexible Machining Systems in 2019 and is playing a leading role managing production and project orders. Luke has also completed a HND in Mechanical Engineering (Level 5).

ChairmanRob Oakley is Chairman and owner of Flexible Machining Systems.
As a true entrepreneur Rob acquired Flexible Machining Systems in 2014, merging it with an existing machining business MES, has established a precision engineering company with a reputation for exceptional quality and service.
Russell Levell
Managing DirectorRussell joined the business in 2019 and has over 30 years’ experience in engineering mostly in the oil and gas industry. Russell has an extensive background in operations, continuous improvement and project management.
Russell has over 10 years’ experience working on high value, complex engineering EPC projects for various large organisations (including pumps, generators, power control, filtration and subsea asset integrity measuring equipment). Russell is responsible for the performance and growth of Flexible Machining Systems and Horsham Sheet Metal.
Clive Dennis
Production & Procurement ManagerClive has been with Flexible Machining Systems since the company started trading in 1982,and brings this experience and expertise to his current role as Production and Procurement Manager.
He controls all purchasing, manufacture, shop loading and logistics to ensure that machined parts are made on time to the highest standards, providing excellence and value for money whether a one-off order, a scheduled call-off, Kanban, JIT or direct line feed.
Andy Howe
Customer Accounts ManagerWith over 35 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, Andy began his career as an Apprentice Toolmaker with Ronson Products Ltd, before working as a machinist for engineering companies manufacturing parts for the oil and gas industry.
He subsequently set up his own business, which he ran for 21 years. After selling it in 2009 Andy managed MES, a precision machining business, and the subsequent merger with Flexible Machining Systems.
In his current role as Customer Accounts Manager, he is committed to developing closer relationships with our customers so we can provide them with high quality, reliable machined components to meet their exact requirements.
Lisa Sanders
Accounts and Office ManagerWith over 30 years’ experience in accounts and office administration, Lisa worked within the construction and automotive industries before joining Flexible Machining Systems in 2004.
In 2018 Lisa was promoted to Flexible’s Accounts and Office Manager and is responsible for overseeing the administrative and accounts operations of the business, managing and supporting a small team in their day to day duties.
Gary Townsend
Operations ManagerGary has nearly 50 years’ experience in mechanical engineering within the automotive, electronics and plastics moulding industries.
Gary has an extensive background in quality assurance and having previously been the Flexible Machining Systems Quality Manager, was promoted to manage overall operations in September 2019.
Quality is at the core of the Flexible Machining Systems business model so Gary’s promotion to overseeing operations and projects was a logical move.
